Goodwill Donation Guidelines

Your generous donations make our programs possible. These guidelines will help you prepare your donation so it can be sold in our stores.

Items should be clean. Clothes should be in good condition without stains, tears, missing buttons or broken zippers. Household goods should be undamaged, have all parts and, if applicable, be in working order.

We gladly accept the following items:

Clothing and Accessories

  • Clothing, belts, scarves, ties
  • Accessories, such as hats, gloves and bags
  • Shoes, boots and sneakers
  • Jewelry and watches

Household

  • Furniture—upholstered and wooden
  • Bedspreads, blankets, curtains, tablecloths, decorative pillows
  • Antiques, collectibles and artwork
  • Housewares and decorative items
  • Cookware, dishes, pots and pans
  • Small appliances
  • Tools (gardening, building/construction)

Entertainment

  • Books, records, VHS and cassette tapes, CDs, DVDs
  • Stereo equipment
  • Television sets (flat-panel only)
  • Games and toys (except damaged toys or stuffed toys with open seams)
  • Sporting goods
  • Exercise equipment
  • Bicycles

Office

  • Computers less than 4 years old (with flat-panel monitors only)
  • Printers, scanners and copiers
  • Telephone systems
  • Office accessories
  • Office furniture

Other

Items we cannot accept:

Some baby and child items (items that support infants or toddlers and damaged items)

  • Cribs
  • Damaged toys
  • Infant car seats 
  • Play pens/play yards/play centers
  • Strollers
  • Stuffed toys with open seams
  • Recalled toys
  • Highchairs
  • Bouncy seats
  • Swings
  • Baby carriers

  • Building materials
  • Carpet
  • Clothes hangers
  • Cosmetics
  • Disassembled lawn mowers/ playground and swing sets
  • Furnaces, wall heaters
  • Furniture in need of repair or reupholstering
  • Grills
  • Household chemicals, paint, cleaning products
  • Kitchen and bathroom fixtures
  • Lawn mowers
  • Major appliances
  • Mattresses or box springs

Other Items

  • Newspapers, magazines
